City of St. George to set up at Desert Color on Oct. 13 for the final Neighborhood Open House of 2022

ST. GEORGE — The Desert Color community, located on the south block of St. George is the site of the next City of St. George Neighborhood Open House, on Oct. 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is free and casual in nature. Everyone is invited to attend at any point within the two-hour timeframe.

“Neighborhood Open Houses provide a great opportunity for those who live and work in St. George to get better connected to our city,” said Mayor Michele Randall. “We have experts from every city department at these open houses, and they are thrilled to chat with members of the public and answer any questions they might have.”

Mayor Randall and members of the five-person City Council are expected to attend. City departments and divisions that will be represented at the Neighborhood Open Houses include: public works, water, energy services, leisure services, police, fire, golf, human resources, economic development, budget, planning and zoning, finance and legal.

There will be free hot dogs and refreshments, kids’ games and some swag items available. Enter through the gates of The Shores Resort, located at 820 W. Akoya Pearl Street.

Previous Neighborhood Open House locations have included SunRiver St. George, Historic Town Square, 2450 East Park, South Mountain Community Church, the Hela Seegmiller Historic Farm and the Thunder Junction All Abilities Park.

Without question, COVID-19 has presented the world with health and economic challenges at scales, magnitudes and velocities that none of us have ever experienced or anticipated. Desert Color’s primary concern is the health and safety of its employees, its many contractors and subcontractors, those who visit the development, and the general public.
Desert Color is following local, state and national policies and procedures, like “social distancing,” to help prevent the virus from spreading.
Desert Color has a deep and abiding commitment to environmental, financial and social sustainability. As the project continues to move forward, Desert Color will be checking and assessing its development activities and investments to ensure that the project achieves positive long-term outcomes for its stakeholders and the community.
Desert Color partners are well positioned and have accounted for market volatility in the longevity of the development. We are fully confident in our ability to bring the full vision of Desert Color to life.

To date, Desert Color has been fortunate. We haven’t seen a crippling impact to the overall project. We continue to make investments in the project. Homes are being built and sold. We invite you to reach out to our builders and our commercial partners. They are engaging with the public in accordance with appropriate “social distancing” measures and would be delighted to hear from you. Come what may, we are not going away. Desert Color is more than just a project.
