Desert Color Welcomes First Resident

ST. GEORGE, UT

—(December 13, 2019) For the last few years, Desert Color–a 3,400 acre master planned community located on SITLA land east of I-15 and Southern Parkway—has been a vision in the making for the Desert Color development team and the community.  “We are very proud of the work we have done with our community partners, builders, suppliers and subcontractors to get us to this point,” said Mitch Dansie, general manager for Desert Color, “and we are honored to welcome Julie Maness as Desert Color’s first resident.  Maness, who works for SkyWest, purchased a two-story town home from Holmes Homes and moved in on December 9, 2019.  “I had heard a lot about Desert Color and when I saw the vision of the project, I knew it was exactly what I wanted,” stated Maness. “Right now, I know I am living in a construction zone, but things are moving quickly. I’m so excited to be 10 minutes from work and I am looking forward to having outdoor experiences, trails, lagoons and pools right outside my door. “The development is really taking shape,” noted Dansie. “We have builders actively moving forward with new product in the Auburn Hills and Resort Neighborhoods. We are also making good progress on our Desert Color Welcome Center and the initial water feature. While Maness is the first Desert Color resident, she says she is looking forward to having neighbors. She won’t have to wait long, as those new neighbors will be joining her before the end of December.

Without question, COVID-19 has presented the world with health and economic challenges at scales, magnitudes and velocities that none of us have ever experienced or anticipated.
